BOTOX (onabotulinumtoxinA) is a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Neurotoxins are minimally invasive injectable compounds that temporarily relax targeted muscles of the face. When one muscle is weakened, the opposing muscle strengthens, in turn, lifting, smoothing and tightening the overall appearance of your face! BOTOX is often used as an umbrella term for neurotoxins. Other neurotoxins on the market are Xeomin, Dysport and Jeuvea.

The wrinkles are created due to repeated contractions of the muscles while making facial expressions. Botox can prevent the formation of these wrinkles; therefore, many young adults are getting Botox at an early age.
If you are suffering from sagging eyebrow or an eyelid, if you wish to get a browlift without surgery get evaluated to see if Botox is the right choice for you.
After a treatment, you will start to notice and feel “the freeze” happening within 2-3 days. BOTOX gradually settles in over the next week. The rule of thumb for BOTOX is that it takes 2 weeks to see full results but many individuals notice improvement before that.
BOTOX usually lasts anywhere between 3-4 months. Your treatment regimen will typically consist of 3-4 annual visits. If you are someone who is very physically active or have a higher intrinsic metabolism, you may require more frequent touch ups.
The risk of bruising is higher in someone who takes blood thinners or has a history of a bleeding disorder. Make sure you inform your injector of all blood thinning medications during your assessment. A little bruising is normal, however, it is minimal and many individuals experience no bruising at all.
Botox is safe but it can cause very rare side effects such as a headache, drooping of an eyebrow or an eyelid, difficulty swallowing and blurry vision.
Absolutely! The times are changing and so are ALL of our faces! Aging does not discriminate! Male patients are one of the fastest growing groups of consumers for BOTOX. Men tend to require higher doses of BOTOX, however, this isn’t always the case.
